     Barbara Close was born in 1906 at Camberley, Surrey, England.² She was the daughter of Edwyn Thomas Close and Evelyn Isabel Goldsmid.^3,2 She married Brigadier Sir Christopher Henry Maxwell Peto, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Basil Edward Peto, 1st Bt. and Mary Matilda Annie Baird, on 3 October 1935.¹ She died in 1992.¹
     She lived at Camberley, Surrey, England.¹ From 3 October 1935, her married name became Peto.¹
