Sir George Osborn, 4th Bt. was born on 10 May 1742 at Chicksand, Bedfordshire, England.3 He was the son of Sir Danvers Osborn, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Montagu.4 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Bannister, daughter of John Bannister and Elizabeth (?), on 6 April 1771.1,3 He married, secondly, Lady Heneage Finch, daughter of Daniel Finch, 8th Earl of Winchilsea and Mary Palmer, on 22 August 1788.1 He died on 29 June 1818 at age 76 at Chicksand, Bedfordshire, England.1,3
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Osborne, of Chicksands Priory, co. Bedford [E., 1662] on 27 December 1753.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 16th Light Dragoons.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 18th or Royal Irish Foot.1 He was commander of the Guards, North America.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between 1768 and 1784.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Scots Guards.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 3rd Foot Guards.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 40th/2nd Somerset Foot.1 He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King George III.1
