Sir Danvers Osborn, 3rd Bt.1

Sir Danvers Osborn, 3rd Bt. was born on 17 November 1715.3 He was the son of John Osborn and Hon. Sarah Byng.4 He married Lady Mary Montagu, daughter of George Montague, 1st Earl of Halifax and Lady Mary Lumley, on 25 September 1740.1 He died on 12 October 1753 at age 37 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.2
He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Osborne, of Chicksands Priory, co. Bedford [E., 1662] on 28 April 1720.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Bedford Regiment, which he commanded in the 1745 Uprising.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between 1747 and 1753.1 Danvers, Massachusetts was named after him.1 He held the office of Governor of New York in 1753.2
