He was educated at Dragon School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 In 1955 his name was legally changed to John David Harberton Eales Ogilvy by Deed Poll. He retired from the military, with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, late of the Royal Navy.1 He lived in 2003 at Witherdon Manor, Beaworthy, Devon, England.1
