     Brig.-Gen. Hon. James Francis Erskine was born on 4 June 1862.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry David Erskine and Lady Horatia Elizabeth Seymour.² He married Margaret Beatrix Lambton, daughter of Henry Lambton and Elizabeth Mary Caroline Harcourt, on 10 December 1896.¹ He died on 26 June 1936 at age 74.¹
     He fought in the Sudan Campaign.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Berwickshire.¹ He fought in the Boer War.² He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1907.¹ He fought in the First World War.² He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1916.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1917.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier-General in the Scots Guards.¹

     Margaret Beatrix Lambton was the daughter of Henry Lambton and Elizabeth Mary Caroline Harcourt.^2,3 She married Brig.-Gen. Hon. James Francis Erskine, son of Sir Henry David Erskine and Lady Horatia Elizabeth Seymour, on 10 December 1896.¹ She died on 17 July 1952.¹
     Her married name became Erskine.

     Henry Lambton married Elizabeth Mary Caroline Harcourt, daughter of William Bernard Harcourt and Elizabeth Georgiana Harriett Cavendish.²
     He lived at Redfield, Winslow, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Brigadier Malcolm David Erskine was born on 31 August 1903.¹ He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Hon. James Francis Erskine and Margaret Beatrix Lambton.² He died on 27 October 1949 at age 46, disappeared while on a flight over the Malayan jungle.²
     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.² He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Scots Guards.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1949 posthumous.¹
