     Walter Campbell, 5th of Skipness was the son of Matthew Campbell, 4th of Skipness and Elizabeth Campbell.1 He married, firstly, Ann Stewart, daughter of Sir James Stewart of Ardmaleish.1 He married, secondly, Jean Campbell, daughter of Captain John Campbell, on 18 January 1655.1,2 He married, thirdly, Anne Stewart on 17 January 1681.1 He died circa 1702.1
     He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court between 1680 and 1687.3
