Admiral John Markham was born on 13 June 1761 at Westminster, London, England.1 He was the son of Dr. William Markham and Sarah Goddard.1 He married Maria Rice, daughter of Rt. Hon. George Rice and Cecil de Cardonnel, Baroness Dynevor of Dynevor, in 1796.1 He died on 13 February 1827 at age 65 at Naples, Italy.1
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in March 1775, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portsmouth between 1801 and 1818.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portsmouth between 1820 and 1826.1 He gained the rank of Admiral.3
