Valentine Leathley Armitage was born in 1888 at Heidelberg, Germany^G.² He was the son of Reverend Allan Leathley Armitage and Margaret Merwyn Drake.^1,2 He married Venetia Mary Stanley Errington Savile, daughter of Reverend William Hale Savile and Mabel von Bothmer, on 5 April 1955.¹ He died in 1964.¹
     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Reverend Allan Leathley Armitage was born circa 1859 at New South Wales, Australia^G.² He was the son of Frederick Armitage and Katherine D. (?)² He married Margaret Merwyn Drake on 27 April 1887, at a British Embassy abroad.² He died in 1939 at Wandsworth, Surrey, England^G.²
     He lived at Newbury, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     William Francis Egginton Briggs was born in 1903 at Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.² He was the son of Colonel William Egginton Briggs and Mary Georgina Mitchell.^1,2 He married Violet Irene Savile, daughter of Reverend William Hale Savile and Mabel von Bothmer, on 18 January 1930.¹ He and Violet Irene Savile were divorced in 1947.¹ He died in 1991 at Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.²

     Colonel William Egginton Briggs was born on 8 February 1853 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.² He was the son of George Briggs and Letitia Fanny Egginton.² He married Mary Georgina Mitchell, daughter of Captain Clayton Mitchell and Mary Charlotte Daniell, in 1894.² He died on 16 February 1942 at age 89.²

     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹
