General Sir John Miller Adye1 

General Sir John Miller Adye was born on 1 November 1819 at Sevenoaks, Kent, EnglandG.3 He was the son of Major James Pattison Adye and Jane Kelson.3,4 He married Mary Cordelia Stopford, daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore, on 7 October 1856.5 He died on 28 August 1900 at age 80.5
