     He was a merchant at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.² He lived at Applecross, Ross-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Henry Foulkes Deare married Grace Ethel Combe.
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 8th Hussars.¹

     Lionel Montagu Phipps Stopford was born on 24 December 1897.¹ He is the son of Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford and Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie.¹ He married Sheila Frances Romer, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Cecil Francis Romer, on 20 February 1934.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Seaforth Highlanders.¹

     Sheila Frances Romer was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Cecil Francis Romer.¹ She married Lionel Montagu Phipps Stopford, son of Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford and Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie, on 20 February 1934.¹ She died on 11 December 1978.¹
     Her married name became Stopford. She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Cecil Francis Romer was born on 14 November 1869 at Ifield, Sussex, England^G.² He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Romer and Betty Lemon.² He died in 1962.²

     Robert Cecil Montagu Stopford was born on 16 November 1935.¹ He is the son of Lionel Montagu Phipps Stopford and Sheila Frances Romer.¹ He married Elizabeth Krott, daughter of Alexander Krott, on 15 March 1958.¹
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He lived in 2003 at Kintail, Hobhole Bank, Old Leake, Boston, Lincolnshire, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Krott is the daughter of Alexander Krott.¹ She married Robert Cecil Montagu Stopford, son of Lionel Montagu Phipps Stopford and Sheila Frances Romer, on 15 March 1958.¹
     From 15 March 1958, her married name became Stopford.¹

     Andrew Alexander Montagu Stopford was born on 20 November 1959.¹ He is the son of Robert Cecil Montagu Stopford and Elizabeth Krott.¹

     General Sir John Miller Adye was born on 1 November 1819 at Sevenoaks, Kent, England^G.³ He was the son of Major James Pattison Adye and Jane Kelson.^3,4 He married Mary Cordelia Stopford, daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore, on 7 October 1856.⁵ He died on 28 August 1900 at age 80.⁵
