     Joan Laetitia Philips was born on 6 May 1900. She is the daughter of William Morton Philips and Caroline Anne Kate Stopford.

     Mary Cordelia Stopford was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore.^1,2 She married General Sir John Miller Adye, son of Major James Pattison Adye and Jane Kelson, on 7 October 1856.² She died on 14 February 1912.²
     Her married name became Adye.

     Emily Winifreda Stopford was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore.¹ She married Lt.-Col. A. J. Nixon on 6 January 1857.¹ She died in 1891.¹
     Her married name became Nixon.

     Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford was born on 10 May 1860.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Lucy Cay.¹ He married Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie, daughter of George Alexander Mackenzie, 12th of Applecross and Elizabeth Cay, on 21 July 1891.¹ He died on 13 September 1942 at age 82.¹

Henry Foulkes Deare and Grace Ethel Combe.^1,2 She married General Sir Montagu George North Stopford, son of Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford and Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie, on 12 April 1921.¹ She died on 4 October 1982.¹
     Her married name became Stopford.

     General Sir Montagu George North Stopford was born on 16 November 1892.¹ He was the son of Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford and Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie.¹ He married Dorothy Deare, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Foulkes Deare and Grace Ethel Combe, on 12 April 1921.¹ He died on 10 March 1971 at age 78, without issue.¹
