     W/Cdr. Anthony Dockray Phillips was born in 1918.² He was the son of Christopher James Phillips.¹ He married Anne Lawrence Mott, daughter of Sir Adrian Spear Mott, 2nd Bt. and Mary Katherine Stanton, on 23 November 1939.¹ He died on 4 July 1944, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ From 23 November 1939, his married name became Mott. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force.¹
