Zachary Maccallum, 5th of Poltalloch was born circa 1635.1 He was the son of Reverend Archibald MacCallum of Dunoronsay, 4th of Poltalloch and Janet Boyd.2 He married Jean Campbell.1 He died between March 1687 and April 1688.1
He matriculated at St. Andrew’s University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland, in 1648.1 He was a notable swordsman.1 In 1659 he was placed by his father in full possession of the estates.1
