Allan Macdonald, 4th of Clanranald and Moidart1 
In 1491 he supported Angus, Master of the Isles, at the Battle of Bloody Bay, and Sir Alexander Macdonald of Lochalsh, nephew of the Lord of the Isles, in his invasion of Ross and Cromarty.1 In 1502 he was recognised by the Crown as next heir of John, 2nd Chief of Sleat, and received Sleat and other lands in Skye, in which he was suceeded by Donald Galloch, 3rd of Sleat.1 He was tried and executed before King James IV at Blair Atholl, for the part he had taken in a raid upon Atholl under Donald Dubh, son of Angus, Master of the Isles.1
