     He gained the rank of Major in the The Cameronians.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.)¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Margaret Elizabeth Henderson McAlpine was born in 1905.¹ She is the daughter of William Hepburn McAlpine and Margaret Donnison Bishop.²
     She has two adopted daughters.¹

     Maud Dees was the daughter of James Gibson Dees.¹ She married Sir Thomas Malcolm McAlpine, son of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Bt. and Agnes Hepburn, on 2 September 1903.¹ She died on 13 July 1969.¹

     Sir Thomas Malcolm McAlpine was born on 19 June 1877.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Bt. and Agnes Hepburn.² He married Maud Dees, daughter of James Gibson Dees, on 2 September 1903.¹ He died on 12 April 1967 at age 89.¹
     Sir Thomas Malcolm McAlpine usually went by his middle name of Malcolm.¹ He lived at Whitehaven, Cumberland, England.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1921.¹

     Richard Martyn was the son of Oliver Martyn.¹ He died in 1740, without male issue.¹

     Carolyn Peta McAlpine was born in 1944.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Robin McAlpine and Nora Constance Perse.² She married Nigel Robert Elwes, son of Captain Robert Philip Henry Elwes and Vivien Elizabeth Mary Smith, on 22 June 1965.¹
     From 22 June 1965, her married name became Elwes. She lived in 2003 at Aylesfield, Alton, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Angelica Cochrane was born before 1754.¹ She married Thomas Hoseason, son of John Hoseason and Ursula Bruce, on 20 August 1803 at Fort St. George, Madras, India.¹ She died in September 1834 at Bath, Somerset, England.¹
     From 20 August 1803, her married name became Hoseason.¹
