He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) (Northants ) in 1943.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Sitwell, of Renishaw, co. Derby [U.K., 1808] on 4 May 1969.1 He was appointed Companion of Honour (C.H.)1 He wrote the book For Want of the Golden City, published 1973.1

Sir George Reresby Sitwell, 4th Bt. 
Sir George Reresby Sitwell, 4th Bt. was born on 27 January 1860.2 He was the son of Sir Sitwell Reresby Sitwell, 3rd Bt. and Louisa Lucy Hely Hutchinson.2 He married Lady Ida Emily Augusta Denison, daughter of William Henry Forester Denison, 1st Earl of Londesborough and Lady Edith Frances Wilhelmina Somerset, on 23 November 1886.3 He died on 9 July 1943 at age 83.2
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Sitwell, of Renishaw, co. Derby [U.K., 1808] on 12 March 1862.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1885 and 1886.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1892 and 1895.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1898.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Yorkshire Dragoons.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Scarborough and Derbyshire.2 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd Voluntary Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment.2
