     He was given the name of Henry Temple Smith at birth.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England. He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Captain in the Welsh Guards.¹ He lived in 2003 at The Old Vicarage, Messing, Essex, England^G.¹

     Major Ian Louis Egerton Macmillan married Marion Elizabeth Charlotte Thornes Roberts, 6th of Brigdon, daughter of Basil Thornes Roberts and Marion Douglas, in 1945.¹
     He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹

     Cicely Margaret Wingfield Hill was born circa 1927.² She was the daughter of Reverend Edward Eustace Hill and Elizabeth Cator.³ She married Henry Temple Close-Smith, son of Major Thomas Close Smith and Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville, on 3 June 1948.¹ She died on 9 July 2014.²
     From 3 June 1948, her married name became Close-Smith.

     Richard Henry Close-Smith was born on 3 April 1951.¹ He is the son of Henry Temple Close-Smith and Cicely Margaret Wingfield Hill.² He married Essex Jane Chatfield-Roberts, daughter of Colonel Graham Chatfield Chatfield-Roberts and Mary Essex Gunning Brooke, on 1 August 2001.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Grey College, Durham University, Durham, County Durham, England^G.¹

     Margaret Bruce Ismay was born on 29 December 1889.² She was the daughter of Joseph Bruce Ismay and Julia Florence Schieffelin.^1,2 She married Brig.-Gen. George Ronald Hamilton Cheape in 1912 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.² She died on 15 May 1967 at age 77.^1,2
     From 1912, her married name became Cheape.

     Caroline Mary Close-Smith was born on 17 March 1954.¹ She is the daughter of Henry Temple Close-Smith and Cicely Margaret Wingfield Hill.² She married Jonathan Lawrence Compton, son of A. J. A. Compton, on 28 November 1981.¹
     From 28 November 1981, her married name became Compton. She lived in 2003 at Birch Holt, Layer Marney, Essex, England^G.¹

     A. J. A. Compton lived at Isle of Wight, England, IoW.¹

     Jonathan Lawrence Compton is the son of A. J. A. Compton.² He married Caroline Mary Close-Smith, daughter of Henry Temple Close-Smith and Cicely Margaret Wingfield Hill, on 28 November 1981.¹

     Edmund Alfred Henry Compton was born in 1990.¹ He is the son of Jonathan Lawrence Compton and Caroline Mary Close-Smith.²

     Emily Glen May Compton was born in 1984.¹ She is the daughter of Jonathan Lawrence Compton and Caroline Mary Close-Smith.²
