     Alexander Irvine, 13th of Drum was the son of Alexander Irvine of Murthill and Jean Cuming.2,3 He married Jean Irvine, daughter of Alexander Irvine, 11th of Drum and Lady Mary Gordon, in 1693.1 He died in 1720.1
     A long series of lawsuits which challenged Alexander Irvine’s succession eventually ruined the Drum estates.1 He succeeded as 13th of Drum, having intruded into the succession to the prejudice of the heir-male.1
