James Burns-Hartopp1 
He was given the name of James Burns at birth.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Guards.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry.3 On 6 July 1894 his name was legally changed to James Burns-Hartopp by Royal Licence.1
