     Captain Henry Hastings McWilliam was born on 23 May 1894 at Newton Abbot, Devon, England.2 He was the son of Ormiston Galloway Reid McWilliam and Jessie Elizabeth McMahon.1 He married Joan Frances Lennox Singer, daughter of Admiral Sir Morgan Singer and Emily Mary Morgan Desborough, in 1929.3 He died on 27 November 1957 at age 63 at New Forest, Hampshire, England.2
     He fought in the First World War, where he became a POW.4 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
