Admiral Sir Home Riggs Popham1

Admiral Sir Home Riggs Popham was born on 12 October 1762 at Gibraltar.2,3 He was the son of Joseph Popham.3 He married Elizabeth Moffat Prince, daughter of Captain unknown Prince, on 19 December 1788 at Bengal, India.3 He died on 20 September 1820 at age 57 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2,3 He was buried at Sunninghill, Berkshire, England.3
He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1799.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) fro Yarmouth between 1804 and 1806.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shaftesbury between 1806 and 1807.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich between 1807 and 1812.3 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1814.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1815.3
