Major Sir Malcolm Gregor Charles Mac Gregor of Mac Gregor, 7th Bt. was born on 23 March 1959.3 He is the son of Sir Gregor Mac Gregor of Mac Gregor, 6th Bt. and Fanny Butler. He married Fiona Armstrong.4 He married Cecilia Margaret Lucy Campbell, daughter of Sir Ilay Mark Campbell of Succoth, 7th Bt. and Margaret Minette Rohais Anderson, in 1988.1 He and Cecilia Margaret Lucy Campbell were divorced in 2005.
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He graduated from Cranfield University, Cranfield, Bedfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)3 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.3 He retired from the military in 1997, with the rank of Major, late of the Scots Guards.3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Photograhic Society (F.R.P.S.)3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographic Society (F.R.G.S.)3 He wrote the book Wilderness Oman, published 2002.3 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet MacGregor, of Lanrick and Balquhidder [G.B., 1795] on 30 March 2003.1 He held the position of 24th Chief of the Clan Gregor from on 30 March 2003.3
