     Violet Helen Millar was born on 20 November 1895.3 She was the daughter of Henry Edward Millar and Ada Margaret Prance.1,4 She married Clement Richard Attlee, 1st Earl Attlee, son of Henry Attlee and Ellen Bravery Watson, on 10 January 1922.1 She died on 7 June 1964 at age 68.1
     From 10 January 1922, her married name became Attlee.1 After her marriage, Violet Helen Millar was styled as Countess Attlee on 16 December 1955.
