     Francesco III d‘Este, Duca di Modena was born on 2 July 1698 at Modena, ItalyG.3 He was the son of Rinaldo III d‘Este, Duca di Modena and Charlotte Felicitas Herzogin von Braunschweig-Lüneburg.4 He married Charlotte Aglaé d‘Orléans, daughter of Philippe d‘Orléans, Duc d’Orléans and Françoise Marie de Bourbon, on 21 July 1720 at Modena, ItalyG.3 He married Teresa di Castellborco. He married Charlotte Aglaé d‘Orléans, daughter of Philippe d‘Orléans, Duc d’Orléans and Françoise Marie de Bourbon, on 12 February 1720 at Tuileries, Paris, FranceG, in a proxy marriage.3 He died on 22 February 1780 at age 81 at Varese, ItalyG.3 He was buried at Capuchin Convent, Varese, ItalyG.3
     He succeeded as the Duca di Modena in 1737.1
