     Sir Richard Tempest, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1620.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Tempest, 2nd Bt. and Troth Tempest.² He married Sarah Cambell, daughter of Thomas Cambell and Sarah Sparkes, on 9 October 1641.¹
     He was educated at Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [E., 1622] in August 1641.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse in the Royalist Army, during the Civil War.¹

     Thomas Cambell is the son of Sir Thomas Cambell.¹ He married Sarah Sparkes, daughter of unknown Sparkes.¹

     Sarah Cambell was the daughter of Thomas Cambell and Sarah Sparkes.^2,1 She married Sir Richard Tempest, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Tempest, 2nd Bt. and Troth Tempest, on 9 October 1641.¹ She died circa February 1662.¹ She was buried on 5 February 1662.¹
     From 9 October 1641, her married name became Tempest.

     Sir Thomas Tempest, 4th Bt. was born circa 1642.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Tempest, 3rd Bt. and Sarah Cambell.² He married Alice Hodgson, daughter of William Hodgson and Margaret Haggerston.¹ He died in August 1692.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [E., 1622] circa February 1662.¹

     Sir Thomas Haggerston, 1st Bt. was the son of William Haggerston and Margaret Butler.² He married Alice Banister, daughter of Henry Banister.² He died circa 4 March 1673/74.² He was buried on 7 March 1673/74.²
     He was created 1st Baronet Haggerston, of Haggerston, co. Northampton [England] on 15 October 1642.² He fought in the English Civil War.² He gained the rank of Colonel in the a royalist regiment.² He lived at Haggerston Castle, Northumberland, England.²

     Alice Hodgson is the daughter of William Hodgson and Margaret Haggerston.¹ She married Sir Thomas Tempest, 4th Bt., son of Sir Richard Tempest, 3rd Bt. and Sarah Cambell.¹
     Her married name became Tempest.

     Sir Francis Tempest, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Tempest, 4th Bt. and Alice Hodgson.² He died in 1698, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [E., 1622] in August 1692.¹

     Jane Tempest was the daughter of Sir Thomas Tempest, 4th Bt. and Alice Hodgson.² She married William Widdrington, 4th Baron Widdrington of Blankney, son of William Widdrington, 3rd Baron Widdrington and Hon. Alathea Fairfax, on 13 April 1700.¹ She died on 9 September 1714.¹
     She inherited Stella.¹ From 13 April 1700, her married name became Widdrington.¹

     William Widdrington, 4th Baron Widdrington of Blankney was the son of William Widdrington, 3rd Baron Widdrington and Hon. Alathea Fairfax.² He married, firstly, Jane Tempest, daughter of Sir Thomas Tempest, 4th Bt. and Alice Hodgson, on 13 April 1700.¹ He married, secondly, Hon. Catherine Graham, daughter of Richard Graham, 1st Viscount Preston and Lady Ann Howard, circa July 1718.³ He died on 19 April 1743.¹
     He gained the title of 4th Baron Widdrington of Blankney. He fought in the Jacobite Uprising in 1715.³ From January 1715/16 to February 1715/16 he was attainted.³

     Nicholas Tempest is the son of Sir Thomas Tempest, 2nd Bt. and Troth Tempest.² He married Margaret Swinburne, daughter of William Swinburne.¹
     He lived at Halliwell^G.¹
