     Sir Nicholas Tempest, 1st Bt. was born circa 1553.1 He was the son of Thomas Tempest and Elizabeth Place.2 He married Isabel Lambton, daughter of Robert Lambton.1 He died on 26 March 1626.1
     He was appointed Knight in March 1603/4.1 He was created 1st Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [England] on 23 December 1622.1 He also had two younger sons (who died without issue) and four daughters.1

     Sir Thomas Tempest, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Nicholas Tempest, 1st Bt. and Isabel Lambton.2 He married Troth Tempest, daughter of Sir Richard Tempest and Elizabeth Rodes.1 He died in August 1641.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [E., 1622] on 26 March 1626.1 Healso had four daughters.1
