Hon. John Yarde-Buller1 

Hon. John Yarde-Buller was born on 23 December 1823. He was the son of John Yarde-Buller, 1st Baron Churston of Churston Ferrers and Lupton and Elizabeth Wilson Patten.1 He married Charlotte Chandos-Pole, daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Anna Maria Wilmot, on 1 January 1845.3 He died on 6 May 1867 at age 43.3
He was educated between 1837 and 1841 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.4 He gained the rank of Colonel.3

John Yarde-Buller, 1st Baron Churston of Churston Ferrers and Lupton1 
He was given the name of John Buller-Yarde-Buller at birth.4 He matriculated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 15 May 1816.1 He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1819 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), second class in classics.1 He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1822 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Buller [G.B., 1790] on 17 April 1833.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for South Devon between 1835 and 1858.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1845 in the South Devon Militia.2 He held the office of Special Deputy Warden of the Stannaries in 1852.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.) by Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 9 June 1853.2 He was created 1st Baron Churston of Churston Ferrers and Lupton, co. Devon [U.K.] on 2 August 1858.2 On 28 February 1860 his name was legally changed to John Yarde-Buller by Royal Licence.4 He lived at Churston Ferrers, Devon, EnglandG.1 He lived at Lupton House, Brixham, Devon, EnglandG.1
