     Sir William Constable, 1st and last Bt. was born on 27 February 1591.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Constable and Anne Hussey.3,2 He married Hon. Dorothy Fairfax, daughter of Thomas Fairfax, 1st Lord Fairfax of Cameron and Ellen Aske, on 15 February 1608.1 He died on 15 June 1655 at age 64, without issue.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Constable [England] on 29 June 1611.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorkshire in 1626.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Callington in 1628.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough in 1628.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Knaresborough in 1642.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General between 1643 and 1645 in the horse and foot, Yorkshire.2 He held the office of Sheriff for Yorkshire from 1653 to 1654.2 He was a regicide of King Charles I.2
