     Anne Rutherford was born in 1739.¹ She was the daughter of Professor John Rutherford and Jean Swinton.¹ She married Walter Scott, son of Robert Scott, on 25 April 1758.^1,2 She died in 1819.¹
     From 25 April 1758, her married name became Scott.¹

     Professor John Rutherford was born in 1695.¹ He married Jean Swinton, daughter of Sir John Swinton, 25th of that Ilk and Anne Sinclair.¹ He died in 1779.¹

     Charles Hardy was born on 21 January 1813.¹ He was the son of John Hardy and Isabel Gathorne.² He married Catherine Orr, daughter of James Orr, on 14 June 1838.¹ He died on 16 March 1867 at age 54.¹
