Christopher Alers Hankey was born on 27 April 1911.¹ He was the son of Maurice Pascal Alers Hankey, 1st Baron Hankey and Adeline Hermine Gertrude Ernestine de Smidt.² He married, firstly, Prudence May Brodribb, daughter of Keith Alfred Brodribb and Laura Bright Macleod, on 31 October 1945.¹ He and Prudence May Brodribb were divorced in 1957.¹ He married, secondly, Helen Christine Cassavetti, daughter of Alexander John Cassavetti, on 5 September 1958.¹ He died on 31 March 2000 at age 88.^1,3
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1932 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He graduated from London University, London, England^G, in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1946 in the Royal Marines.¹ He was with the Ministry of Labour between 1946 and 1961.¹ He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1947 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1958.¹ He was with the Department of Technical Co-operation between 1961 and 1964.¹ He was Principal of the Ministry of Overseas Development between 1964 and 1971.¹

     Keith Alfred Brodribb is the son of Alfred Ernest Brodribb. He married Laura Bright Macleod, daughter of Loudoun Hector MacLeod, 15th of Raasay and Francis Laura Bright, on 18 January 1923 at Kingston, Tasmania, Australia.^2,3
     He lived at Frodsley, Tasmania, Australia^G.¹

     Prudence May Brodribb was born on 26 May 1925 at Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.² She was the daughter of Keith Alfred Brodribb and Laura Bright Macleod.^3,1 She married Hon. Christopher Alers Hankey, son of Maurice Pascal Alers Hankey, 1st Baron Hankey and Adeline Hermine Gertrude Ernestine de Smidt, on 31 October 1945.¹ She and Hon. Christopher Alers Hankey were divorced in 1957.¹ She died on 18 November 2013 at age 88 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.²
     From 31 October 1945, her married name became Hankey.

     Felicity Laura Hankey was born on 16 June 1947.¹ She is the daughter of Hon. Christopher Alers Hankey and Prudence May Brodribb.² She married Henry R. Edgell, son of Geoffrey Edgell.¹
     Her married name became Edgell. She lived in 2003 at Dennistoun, Bothwell, Tasmania, Australia^G.¹

     Geoffrey Edgell was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹

     Henry R. Edgell is the son of Geoffrey Edgell.² He married Felicity Laura Hankey, daughter of Hon. Christopher Alers Hankey and Prudence May Brodribb.¹
