     Anne Mackintosh was born in 1787.¹ She married James Balfour, 4th of Pilrig on 13 February 1806 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 29 June 1825.¹
     From 13 February 1806, her married name became Balfour.¹

     James Heriot Balfour-Melville was born on 8 July 1845 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of James Balfour-Melville and Eliza Ogilvy Maitland-Heriot.¹ He was baptised on 7 September 1845 at St. Cuthbert’s, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He married Mary Louisa Dundas, daughter of Sir David Dundas, Bt., in 1878.¹ He died on 10 December 1913 at age 68 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     He was given the name of James Heriot Balfour at birth.¹

     Mary Louisa Dundas was the daughter of Sir David Dundas, Bt.¹ She married James Heriot Balfour-Melville, son of James Balfour-Melville and Eliza Ogilvy Maitland-Heriot, in 1878.¹ She died in 1930.¹
     From 1878, her married name became Balfour-Melville.¹

     Mary Turner Maitland-Heriot was born on 17 May 1826 at Kettle, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ She was the daughter of James Maitland-Heriot and Margaret Dalgleish.¹ She was baptised on 22 June 1826 at Kettle, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ She married Reverend Alexander James Campbell, son of John Campbell of Annfield and Carbrook and Frances Brown, on 15 August 1844 at Kettle, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 4 May 1880 at age 53 at St. George’s Manse, Geelong, Victoria, Australia^G.¹
     From 15 August 1844, her married name became Campbell.¹

     Reverend Alexander James Campbell was born on 3 April 1815 at 29 Heriot Row, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of John Campbell of Annfield and Carbrook and Frances Brown.² He married Mary Turner Maitland-Heriot, daughter of James Maitland-Heriot and Margaret Dalgleish, on 15 August 1844 at Kettle, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He died on 20 October 1909 at age 94 at Victoria, Australia^G.¹
     He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He was ordained on 2 November 1844.² He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) by Queen’s College, Kingston, Ontario, Canada^G, in 1877.² He wrote the book Fifty Years of Presbyterianism in Victoria. A Jubilee Sketch, published 1889.²

     Evan Whyte Melville Balfour-Melville was born in 1887.¹ He was the son of James Heriot Balfour-Melville and Mary Louisa Dundas.¹ He died in 1963.¹
     He was a Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Frederick Maitland Balfour-Melville was born on 2 July 1847 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of James Balfour-Melville and Eliza Ogilvy Maitland-Heriot.¹ He was baptised on 8 August 1847 at St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He married Sarah Hillard.¹ He died in 1907.¹
     He was given the name of Frederick Maitland Balfour at birth.

     Sarah Hillard was born in 1847.¹ She married Frederick Maitland Balfour-Melville, son of James Balfour-Melville and Eliza Ogilvy Maitland-Heriot.¹ She died in 1917.¹
     Her married name became Balfour-Melville.¹

     Irene Edith Maitland Balfour was born in 1881.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick Maitland Balfour-Melville and Sarah Hillard.¹ She married Charles James Maxwell in 1909.¹ She died in 1970.¹
     From 1909, her married name became Maxwell.¹
