     Edward Berkeley Mansel was born on 6 August 1803.¹ He was the son of Commander Richard Philipps and Caroline Bond Hopkins.² He married Mary Secker, daughter of Reverend John Secker, on 20 August 1831.¹ He died on 29 May 1879 at age 75, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 53rd Regiment.¹

     Mary Secker was the daughter of Reverend John Secker.² She married Edward Berkeley Mansel, son of Commander Richard Philipps and Caroline Bond Hopkins, on 20 August 1831.¹ She died on 22 January 1870.¹
     From 20 August 1831, her married name became Mansel.

     Harriette Mansel is the daughter of Commander Richard Philipps and Caroline Bond Hopkins.² She married Captain G. C. Carpenter on 29 August 1823.¹
     From 29 August 1823, her married name became Carpenter.

     Captain G. C. Carpenter married Harriette Mansel, daughter of Commander Richard Philipps and Caroline Bond Hopkins, on 29 August 1823.¹ He died on 8 April 1861.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 15th Hussars.¹

     Colonel John Mansel was born on 16 August 1776.¹ He was the son of Sir William Mansel, 9th Bt. and Mary Philipps.² He married, firstly, Mary (?)¹ He married, secondly, Louisa Pleydell, daughter of Edmund Morton Pleydell, in July 1815.¹ He died on 29 January 1863 at age 86.¹
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He lived at Smedmore, Dorset, England^G.¹

     Louisa Pleydell was born circa 1790.² She was the daughter of Edmund Morton Pleydell.¹ She married Colonel John Mansel, son of Sir William Mansel, 9th Bt. and Mary Philipps, in July 1815.¹ She died on 6 May 1863.¹
     From July 1815, her married name became Mansel.

     John Clavell Mansel-Pleydell was born on 4 December 1817.¹ He was the son of Colonel John Mansel and Louisa Pleydell.² He married, firstly, Emily Bingham, daughter of Captain A. B. Bingham, in 1844.¹ He married, secondly, Isabel Colvile, daughter of Frederick Charles Acton Colvile and Mary Leigh, on 21 June 1849.¹ He died on 3 May 1902 at age 84.¹
     He was given the name of John Clavell Mansel at birth.¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Linnean Society (F.L.S.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Geological Society (F.G.S.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dorset.¹ In 1872 his name was legally changed to John Clavell Mansel-Pleydell.¹ He held the office of Member of the Dorset County Council.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Dorset in 1876.¹ He lived at Whatcombe, Dorset, England^G.¹

     Elisabeth Murray is the daughter of Sir Andrew Murray of Murrayshall.¹ She married Sir Thomas Nairn of Dunsinane, 1st Bt.¹
     Her married name became Nairn.¹
