     Brigadier Eric Greville Earle was born on 24 February 1893.¹ He was the son of Cecil Arthur Earle and Isabella Scott.² He married, firstly, Noel Downes-Martin, daughter of Captain Edward Downes-Martin, on 17 January 1918.¹ He and Noel Downes-Martin were divorced in 1931.¹ He married, secondly, Diana Mary Harley, daughter of Dr. Vaughan Harley, on 25 November 1931.¹ He died on 19 October 1965 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times and wounded twice.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He fought in the Afghan War in 1919.¹ He was awarded the Knight, Order of Leopold of Belgium.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He held the office of Member of the Buckinghamshire County Council between 1949 and 1965.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Buckinghamshire in 1950.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1953.¹

     Captain Edward Downes-Martin lived at Killoskehane Castle, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹

     Noel Downes-Martin was the daughter of Captain Edward Downes-Martin.² She married Brigadier Eric Greville Earle, son of Cecil Arthur Earle and Isabella Scott, on 17 January 1918.¹ She and Brigadier Eric Greville Earle were divorced in 1931.¹ She died in 1975.¹
     From 17 January 1918, her married name became Earle.

     Cecil Diccon Earle was born on 12 November 1919.¹ He was the son of Brigadier Eric Greville Earle and Noel Downes-Martin.² He married Elizabeth Anne Sainsbury, daughter of E. A. Sainsbury, on 30 November 1943.¹ He died on 15 November 1945 at age 26, accidentally killed.¹
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Artillery.¹

     E. A. Sainsbury lived at Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Anne Sainsbury is the daughter of E. A. Sainsbury.² She married, firstly, Cecil Diccon Earle, son of Brigadier Eric Greville Earle and Noel Downes-Martin, on 30 November 1943.¹ She married, secondly, Major A. G. F. Mathers on 10 January 1950.¹
     From 30 November 1943, her married name became Earle. From 10 January 1950, her married name became Mathers.¹

     Colonel David Eric Martin Earle was born on 14 August 1921.¹ He was the son of Brigadier Eric Greville Earle and Noel Downes-Martin.² He married Betty Isobel Shield, daughter of Lawford Shield, on 8 April 1947.¹ He died on 4 December 2005 at age 84.³
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War in 1945, in Burma.¹ He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1947 and 1948.¹ He fought in the Cyprus Campaign between 1955 and 1956.¹ He was an Instructor between 1956 and 1960 at Staff College, Camberley, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1969.¹ He lived in 2003 at Shipways, Church Lane, Kington Langley, Wiltshire, England^G.¹
