He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force.2 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) (W Sussex ) in 1937.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Shakerley, of Somerford Park, co. Chester [U.K., 1838] on 7 August 1945.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sussex in 1949.2
