     Gruffudd Foethus ap Llywelyn lived at Llangathen, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G.¹ Gruffudd Foethus ap Llywelyn also went by the nick-name of Foethus (or in English, ‘the Luxurious.¹‘) He was Constable of Maenordeilo between 1355 and 1358.¹

     Jonet ap Gruffudd is the daughter of Gruffudd Foethus ap Llywelyn.² She married Nicholas ap Philip, son of Philip ap Elidir.¹

     Gruffurd ap Nicholas was the son of Nicholas ap Philip and Jonet ap Gruffudd.² He married, firstly, Mabli ap Maredudd, daughter of Maredudd ap Henry Dwnn.¹ He married, secondly, Joan Perrot, daughter of Sir Thomas Perrot.¹ He married, thirdly, Jane ap Jenkin, daughter of Jenkin ap Rhys, circa 1442.¹ He died circa 1460.¹
     He was living in 1415.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Carmarthen in 1426.¹ He was Deputy Constable of Dinefwr Castle in 1429.¹ He was Escheator of Carmarthen between 1429 and 1432.¹ He was Deputy Justiciar of South Wales in 1437.¹ He was Deputy Chamberlain of South Wales between 1443 and 1454.¹ He was Deputy Justiciar of South Wales between 1447 and 1456.¹ He was Escheator of Carmarthen from 1454 to 1455.¹ He was Mayor-Escheator of Carmarthen in 1456/57.¹ He lived at Newton, Dinfwr, Wales.¹

     Maredudd ap Henry Dwnn lived at Croesallgwyn, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G.¹

     Mabli ap Maredudd is the daughter of Maredudd ap Henry Dwnn.² She married Gruffurd ap Nicholas, son of Nicholas ap Philip and Jonet ap Gruffudd.¹
     Her married name became Nicholas.

     Thomas ap Gruffudd was the son of Gruffurd ap Nicholas and Mabli ap Maredudd.² He married, firstly, Elsbeth Griffith, daughter of Sir John Griffith, in 1438.¹ He married, secondly, Jonet Malephant, daughter of Henry Malephant, in 1472.¹ He died between 1472 and 1474 at Pennal, Merionethshire, Wales^G, killed in a skirmish.¹
     He was Deputy Sheriff of Cardiganshire from 1442 to 1443.¹ He was Deputy Justiciar of South Wales in 1455.¹

     Sir John Griffith lived at Wichnor, Staffordshire, England^G.¹

     Elsbeth Griffith is the daughter of Sir John Griffith.² She married Thomas ap Gruffudd, son of Gruffurd ap Nicholas and Mabli ap Maredudd, in 1438.¹

     Sir Rhys ap Thomas was born circa 1449.¹ He was the son of Thomas ap Gruffudd and Elsbeth Griffith.² He married, firstly, Efa ap Henry, daughter of Henry ap Gwilym.¹ He married, secondly, Jonet Mathew, daughter of Thomas Mathew.¹ He died in 1525.¹
     He was appointed Knight in 1485.¹ He held the office of Justiciar of South Wales between 1496 and 1525.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1497.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1505.¹ He fought in the French Campaign in 1513.² In 1520 he was present at the Field of the Cloth of Gold.²

     Efa ap Henry is the daughter of Henry ap Gwilym.² She married Sir Rhys ap Thomas, son of Thomas ap Gruffudd and Elsbeth Griffith.¹
