Sovereign between 1925 and 1926.1 He was Director of the Naval Intelligence Division between 1927 and 1930.1 He was commander of the 3rd Cruiser Squadron between 1931 and 1932.1 He was president of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich and commander of the War College between 1932 and 1934.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1934.1 He retired from the military in 1936, with the rank of Admiral.1 He wrote the book By and Large.1 He wrote the book Look to Your Moat.1 He wrote the book From Admiral to Cabin Boy.1
