Richard White, 1st Earl of Bantry1 
In 1797 he assisted in repelling the French invasion at Bantry Bay.1 He was created 1st Baron Bantry, of Bantry, co. Cork [Ireland] on 24 March 1797.1 He gained the title of 1st Viscount Bantry, of Bantry, co. Cork [Ireland] on 29 December 1800.1 He was created 1st Earl of Bantry, of Bantry, co. Cork [Ireland] on 22 January 1816.1 He was created 1st Viscount Berehaven [Ireland] on 22 January 1816.1 He lived at Bantry, County Cork, IrelandG.1
Gibbs reports that “he possess large property which he inherits through his grandfather, who made an immense fortune in the profession of the law. He is a warm supporter of all measures of government, and an avocate for the union.”1
