Sir Anthony Brutus Babington was born on 24 November 1877 at Creevagh House, County Londonderry, Ireland.2 He was the son of Hume Babington and Hester Watt.2 He married Ethel Vaughan Hart, daughter of George Vaughan Hart and Mary Elizabeth Hone, on 5 September 1907.3 He died on 10 April 1972 at age 94.2
He was educated at Glenalmond College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.3 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3 He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1917.3 He held the office of Attorney-General [Northern Ireland] in 1925.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Belfast [Northern Ireland] between 1925 and 1929.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Northern Ireland] in 1926.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Belfast Cromac [Northern Ireland] between 1929 and 1937.3 He held the office of Bencher of Middle Temple in 1930.1,3 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1937.3 He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal between 1937 and 1949.2 He lived at Creevagh, County Antrim, IrelandG.1
