Colonel Peter Hawker1 
Colonel Peter Hawker was born in 1785.3,4 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Peter Ryves Hawker and Mary Wilson Yonge.4 He married, firstly, Julia Amelia Sophia Barttelot, daughter of Hooker Barttelot and Amelia Sophia Orton, on 19 March 1811 at Whitchurch, Hampshire, England.4 He married, secondly, Helen Susan Chatterton, daughter of Major Thomas Chatterton and Charlotte Green, on 29 August 1844.1 He died in 1853.3
He gained the rank of Cornet in 1800.4 He gained the rank of Captain in 1804 in the 14th Light Dragoons.4 He fought in the Battle of Talavera, where he was severely wounded.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1821 in the North Hampshire Militia.4 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire in 1830.4 He was awarded the Instructions to Young Sportsmen.4 He lived at Longparish House, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
