     Hooker Barttelot was born on 5 February 1754.1 He was the son of Walter Barttelot and Elizabeth Hooker.1 He married, firstly, Amelia Sophia Orton, daughter of Dr. Thomas Orton and Mary King, on 18 January 1783 at St. Thomas, Portsmouth, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Maria Theresa Macdonagh circa 1795.2 He died in 1838.1
     In 1798 evidence was heard in the House of Lords of a criminal conversion, as he was still married to his first wife.2
