     General Simon Harcourt, 1st Earl Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt was born in 1714.¹ He was the son of Hon. Simon Harcourt and Elizabeth Evelyn.³ He married Rebecca Samborne le Bas, daughter of Charles Samborne le Bas, on 16 October 1735.¹ He died on 16 September 1777, apparently by drowning in a well at Nuneham Park while trying to rescue his dog, which had fallen into the well too.¹
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Oxford [E., 1721] on 28 July 1727.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Oxford [E., 1711] on 28 July 1727.¹ He held the office of a Lord of the Bedchamber between 1735 and 1751.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1745.¹ He was created 1st Viscount Nuneham of Nuneham Courtney, co. Oxford [Great Britain] on 1 December 1749.¹ He was created 1st Earl Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Oxford [Great Britain] on 1 December 1749.¹ He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1751.¹ He held the office of Governor to The Prince of Wales from 1751 to 1752.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1755.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1759.¹ He held the office of Master of the Horse to Queen Charlotte between 1761 and 1763.¹ He held the office of Lord Chamberlain to Queen Charlotte between 1763 and 1768.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to France between 1768 and 1772.¹ He gained the rank of General in 1772.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1772 and 1777.¹

     Hon. Simon Harcourt was born circa 1685.² He was the son of Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt and Rebecca Clark.^1,3 He married Elizabeth Evelyn, daughter of John Evelyn and Martha Spencer.¹ He died on 1 July 1720.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallingford between 1710 and 1713.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 13 December 1712 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Abingdon between 1713 and 1715.⁴ In 1719 he bought the Nuneham Courtney estate from 4th Earl of Wemyss for £17,000.²

     Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt was born in December 1661.² He was the son of Sir Philip Harcourt and Anne Waller.³ He married, firstly, Rebecca Clark, daughter of Reverend Thomas Clark, on 18 October 1680.² He married, secondly, Elizabeth Spencer, daughter of Richard Spencer, before 1724.² He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Vernon, daughter of Sir Thomas Vernon, on 30 September 1724.² He died on 28 July 1727 at age 65.²
     He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1683 entitled to practise as a barrister.² He held the office of Recorder of Abingdon in 1686.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Abingdon between 1690 and 1705.² He graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1702 with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)² He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1702 and 1707.² He held the office of Treasurer of the Inner Temple from 1702 to 1703.² He was appointed Knight in 1703.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Oxford [England] on 3 September 1711.² He held the office of Lord Chancellor from 1713 to 1714.² He was created 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, co. Oxford [England] on 11 September 1721.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1722.²

     Rebecca Clark was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Clark. She married Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, son of Sir Philip Harcourt and Anne Waller, on 18 October 1680.¹ She died circa 13 May 1687. She was buried on 16 May 1687.
     From 18 October 1680, her married name became Harcourt.

     Nicholas Charles Thoresby Pawson is the son of Kenneth Vernon Frank Pawson and Nicolette (?)^1,2 He married Rosalind Jane Allhusen, daughter of Richard Christian Allhusen and Evelyn Jane Chenevix Trench, in 1985.¹

     Rosalind Jane Allhusen was born in 1954.¹ She is the daughter of Richard Christian Allhusen and Evelyn Jane Chenevix Trench.¹ She married Nicholas Charles Thoresby Pawson, son of Kenneth Vernon Frank Pawson and Nicolette (?), in 1985.¹
     From 1985, her married name became Pawson.¹

     Elizabeth Vernon was born in 1678.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Vernon. She married, firstly, Sir John Walter, 3rd Bt., son of Sir William Walter, 2nd Bt. and Lady Mary Tufton.² She married, secondly, Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt, son of Sir Philip Harcourt and Anne Waller, on 30 September 1724.² She died on 12 July 1748.
     Her married name became Walter. From 30 September 1724, her married name became Harcourt. After her marriage, Elizabeth Vernon was styled as Viscountess Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt on 30 September 1724.
