     Sir Ross Mahon, 1st Bt. was born on 2 September 1763.¹ He was the son of Ross Mahon and Lady Anne Browne.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Browne, daughter of Peter Browne, 2nd Earl of Altamont and Elizabeth Kelly, on 25 July 1786.¹ He married, secondly, Diana Baber, daughter of Edward Baber, on 19 September 1805.¹ He married, thirdly, Hon. Mary Geraldine FitzGerald, daughter of Rt. Hon. James Fitzgerald and Catherine Vesey, Baroness Fitzgerald and Vesci, on 1 October 1809.² He died on 10 August 1835 at age 71.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Granard [Ireland] between 1798 and 1800.³ He was created 1st Baronet Mahon, of Castlegar, co. Galway [U.K.] on 14 April 1819.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis in 1820.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)³

     Lady Elizabeth Browne was born circa 1765. She was the daughter of Peter Browne, 2nd Earl of Altamont and Elizabeth Kelly.² She married Sir Ross Mahon, 1st Bt., son of Ross Mahon and Lady Anne Browne, on 25 July 1786.¹ She died on 24 February 1795.²
     Her married name became Mahon.

     Diana Baber was the daughter of Edward Baber.¹ She married Sir Ross Mahon, 1st Bt., son of Ross Mahon and Lady Anne Browne, on 19 September 1805.¹ She died on 2 December 1807, without surviving issue.¹
     Her married name became Mahon.

     Edward Baber lived at Park Street, Grosvenor Square, London, England^G.

     Hon. Mary Geraldine FitzGerald was born on 15 February 1784.¹ She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. James Fitzgerald and Catherine Vesey, Baroness Fitzgerald and Vesci.² She married Sir Ross Mahon, 1st Bt., son of Ross Mahon and Lady Anne Browne, on 1 October 1809.¹ She died on 20 March 1859 at age 75.¹
     Her married name became Mahon.

     Rt. Hon. James Fitzgerald was born in 1742.¹ He was the son of William Fitzgerald and Eliza Lynch.² He married Catherine Vesey, Baroness Fitzgerald and Vesci, daughter of Reverend Henry Vesey.¹ He died on 20 January 1835.¹
     He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He was admitted to King’s Inns in 1769 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Fore [Ireland] between 1776 and 1783.^1,3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tulske [Ireland] between 1783 and 1797.³ He held the office of Prime Sergeant of Ireland between 1787 and 1799.¹ He was a distinguished orator and a leading opponent of the Union.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Kildare [Ireland] between 1797 and 1800.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis between 1802 and 1808.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis between 1812 and 1813.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He lived at Moyriesk, County Clare, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Inchicronan, County Clare, Ireland^G.¹

     John Denis Browne, 1st Marquess of Sligo was born on 11 June 1756.¹ He was the son of Peter Browne, 2nd Earl of Altamont and Elizabeth Kelly.¹ He married Lady Louisa Catherine Howe, daughter of Admiral Richard Howe, 1st and last Earl Howe and Mary Hartopp, on 21 May 1787.² He died on 2 June 1809 at age 52 at Lisbon, Portugal^G.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Jamestown [Ireland] between 1776 and 1780.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of County Mayo in 1779.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Altamont, co. Mayo [I., 1771] on 28 December 1780.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Westport, of Westport, co. Mayo [I., 1768] on 28 December 1780.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Mount Eagle, of Westport, co. Mayo [I., 1760] on 28 December 1780.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1785.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Patrick (K.P.) in 1800.³ He was created 1st Marquess of Sligo [Ireland] on 31 December 1800.¹ He was appointed Representative Peer [Ireland] in 1801.³ He was created 1st Baron Monteagle of Westport, co. Mayo [U.K.] on 20 February 1806.³

     Lady Louisa Catherine Howe was born on 9 December 1767.³ She was the daughter of Admiral Richard Howe, 1st and last Earl Howe and Mary Hartopp.¹ She married, firstly, John Denis Browne, 1st Marquess of Sligo, son of Peter Browne, 2nd Earl of Altamont and Elizabeth Kelly, on 21 May 1787.¹ She married, secondly, William Scott, 1st and last Baron Stowell of Stowell Park, son of William Scott and Jane Atkinson, on 10 April 1813.¹ She died on 20 August 1817 at age 49.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Louisa Catherine Howe was styled as Countess of Altamont on 21 May 1787. From 21 May 1787, her married name became Browne. After her marriage, Lady Louisa Catherine Howe was styled as Marchioness of Sligo on 31 December 1800. From 10 April 1813, her married name became Scott.

     William Scott, 1st and last Baron Stowell of Stowell Park was born on 17 October 1745.¹ He was the son of William Scott and Jane Atkinson.¹ He married, firstly, Anna Maria Bagnall, daughter of John Bagnall, on 7 April 1781.² He married, secondly, Lady Louisa Catherine Howe, daughter of Admiral Richard Howe, 1st and last Earl Howe and Mary Hartopp, on 10 April 1813.³ He died on 28 January 1836 at age 90.¹
     He was created 1st Baron Stowell of Stowell Park, co. Gloucester [U.K.] on 17 July 1821.¹

     Mary Hartopp was the daughter of Chiverton Hartopp.¹ She married Admiral Richard Howe, 1st and last Earl Howe, son of Emanuel Scrope Howe, 2nd Viscount Howe and Mary Sophia Charlotte Kielmansegge, on 10 March 1758.¹ She died on 9 August 1800.¹
     From 10 March 1758, her married name became Howe. After her marriage, Mary Hartopp was styled as Viscountess Howe on 6 July 1758. After her marriage, Mary Hartopp was styled as Countess Howe on 19 August 1788.
