Sir John Rose George Sinclair of Dunbeath, 7th Bt.1
He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Sinclair, of Dunbeath, co. Caithness [N.S., 1704] on 21 April 1873.2 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1886.2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)2 He was commander of the 62nd (Middlesex) Imperial Yeomanry.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He fought in the Boer War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.2 He gained the rank of officer in the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Caithness Volunteer Artillery.2 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Caithness.2
