     Sir George Makgill, 11th Bt. was born on 24 December 1868.¹ He was the son of Sir John Makgill, 10th Bt. and Margaret Isabella Haldane.² He married Frances Elizabeth Grant, daughter of Alexander Innes Grant and Frances Ann Rutherford, on 1 December 1891.¹ He died on 17 October 1926 at age 57.¹
     He succeeded as the 11th Lord Makgill of Cousland [S., 1651] on 10 November 1906, de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Viscount of Oxfuird [S., 1651] on 10 November 1906, de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Makgill [N.S., 1627] in May 1907.¹

     Frances Elizabeth Grant was the daughter of Alexander Innes Grant and Frances Ann Rutherford.¹ She married Sir George Makgill, 11th Bt., son of Sir John Makgill, 10th Bt. and Margaret Isabella Haldane, on 1 December 1891.¹ She died on 16 December 1947.¹
     From 1 December 1891, her married name became Makgill.¹

     Alexander Innes Grant married Frances Ann Rutherford, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Rutherford.¹
     He lived at Merchiston, Otago, New Zealand^G.¹

     Frances Ann Rutherford is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Rutherford.¹ She married Alexander Innes Grant.¹
     Her married name became Grant.¹

     Lt.-Col. Henry Rutherford gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Bengal Artillery.¹

     Sarah Gerard was the daughter of Thomas Gerard.¹ She married Gilbert Lyon.¹ She died circa February 1750/51.¹ She was buried on 26 February 1750/51.¹
     Her married name became Lyon.¹
