     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Bengal Army.¹

     Guy William Hay Verner was born on 24 April 1880.¹ He was the son of Charles Augustus Verner and Violet Emily Watson-Taylor.¹ He married Violet Charlotte Ansel, daughter of Louis Ansel, on 17 April 1912.¹ He died on 28 December 1953 at age 73.¹
