She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex in 1944.3 From 21 October 1959, her married name became Butler.1 After her marriage, Mollie Montgomerie was styled as Baroness Butler of Saffron Walden on 19 February 1965. She was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries, Scotland (F.S.A.Scot.)3
