     Reverend Robert Trail was born in 1603.¹ He was the son of James Trail and Matilda Melville.² He married Jane Allen Annan, daughter of Alexander Annan, on 23 December 1639.¹ He died on 10 July 1676 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     He was the Minister at Elie, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He was the Minister at Grey Friars Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He taken prisoner by Cromwell at the siege of Edinburgh Castle.¹ He was banished to Holland for non-conformity, and returned in 1674.¹

     Andrew Trail was the son of James Trail and Matilda Melville.² He died, unmarried.¹

     Jane Allen Annan was the daughter of Alexander Annan.² She married Reverend Robert Trail, son of James Trail and Matilda Melville, on 23 December 1639.¹ She died in December 1680.¹
