     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th (S) Battalion, Inniskilling Fusiliers.² In 1905 Barrister-atlaw (Ireland.)² He gained the rank of Captain between 1914 and 1919 in the General Staff.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1917.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.² He lived in 1924 at Oakley Park, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹ He sold Oakley Park in 1924.² He lived at Blackwater, County Clare, Ireland^G.²

     Nicholas Robert Slane Fleming married Charlotte Prudentia Minchin, daughter of Charles Henry Minchin and Maria Catherine Forde, on 11 September 1875.¹ He died on 2 September 1908 at Crossbeck House, Eston, Yorkshire, England.^1,2
     He had one daughter.¹
