Hugh Dillon Massy Minchin was born on 26 November 1857.¹ He was the son of Reverend Henry Charles Minchin and Anne Jane Jones.² He married Caroline Frances Stephens Loder, daughter of William Stephens Loder and Jemima Mary Jeens, on 5 September 1889 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.^1,3 He died on 16 July 1904 at age 46.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹

     William Stephens Loder was born in 1826 at Kencott, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Charles Loder.¹ He married Jemima Mary Jeens in 1857 at Weymouth, Dorset, England^G.¹ He died in 1904 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹
     He was also known as James Loder.² He lived at Bath, Somerset, England^G.² He lived between 1891 and 1901 at 1 Bathwick Hill, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹

     Caroline Frances Stephens Loder was born in 1858 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.² She was the daughter of William Stephens Loder and Jemima Mary Jeens.^3,2 She married Lt.-Col. Hugh Dillon Massy Minchin, son of Reverend Henry Charles Minchin and Anne Jane Jones, on 5 September 1889 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.^1,2 She died in 1938 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England^G.² She was also reported to have died on 15 May 1933.¹
     From 5 September 1889, her married name became Minchin.

     Lieutenant Herbert Charles Loder Minchin was born on 16 July 1890.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Dillon Massy Minchin and Caroline Frances Stephens Loder.³ He died on 20 December 1914 at age 24 at France^G, killed in action.⁴ He was also reported to have died killed in action, unmarried in July 1916 at France^G.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 125th Napier’s Rifles, Indian Army.^1,4 He fought in the First World War.¹

     Brigadier Hugh Charles Stephens Minchin was born on 4 January 1893 at Belgaum, India^G.^1,2,3 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Dillon Massy Minchin and Caroline Frances Stephens Loder.⁴ He was baptised on 5 September 1893 at Bombay, India.³ He married, firstly, Irene Birch, daughter of Captain Michael Birch, in 1923.¹ He married, secondly, Kathleen Lucy Collett Collett-Mason, daughter of James Collett Collett-Mason, in 1931.¹ He died on 11 March 1957 at age 64.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Indian Army.¹

     Captain Michael Birch gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Irene Birch was the daughter of Captain Michael Birch.² She married Brigadier Hugh Charles Stephens Minchin, son of Lt.-Col. Hugh Dillon Massy Minchin and Caroline Frances Stephens Loder, in 1923.¹ She died in 1924.¹

     Irene Mary Gwendoline Minchin was the daughter of Brigadier Hugh Charles Stephens Minchin and Irene Birch.² She married Paul Graham circa 1955.¹ She died on 11 July 1968.¹
