     He fought in the American War of Independence between June 1779 and December 1783. Served in the Revolutionary War from Dracut, Massachusetts, but listed his birthplace as Nottingham West, New Hampshire. – Service recordslist him as ‘DAVICE’ from Dracut, Massachusetts; age 17, stature as 5 foot 4 inches. He was discharged at West Point

Family lore says that Dudley served General George Washington as a waiter.

     Mary Wood was born on 27 August 1762 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ She was the daughter of Simeon Wood and Sarah Hildreth.² She married Dudley Daniel Davis on 11 August 1785 at Hudson, New Hampshire, U.S.A.^G.¹ She died in September 1858 at age 96 at Washington County, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.^1,2
     She was also known as Mercy.² From 11 August 1785, her married name became Davis.²

     Simeon Wood was born on 31 August 1733 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He married Sarah Hildreth, daughter of Robert Hildreth and Sarah (?), on 16 November 1754 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.² He died on 11 May 1802 at age 68 at Dudley, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹
     He was in the French and Indian war and was present at the dispersion of the Arcadians.¹

     Sarah Hildreth was born on 31 August 1735 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Hildreth and Sarah (?)¹ She married Simeon Wood on 16 November 1754 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹
     From 16 November 1754, her married name became Wood.²

     Robert Hildreth was born on 18 May 1713 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of Ephraim Hildreth and Mercy Mary Richardson.¹ He married, firstly, Sarah (?) on 15 November 1734 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.¹ He married, secondly, Sarah Abbott, daughter of David Abbott and Hannah Danforth, on 30 January 1753 at Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He died in 1760 at Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.¹

     Mercy Mary Richardson was born on 9 January 1690 at Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.² She married Ephraim Hildreth before January 1708 at Massachusetts, U.S.A.² She died on 25 December 1743 at age 53 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.²
     From before January 1708, her married name became Hildreth.¹

     Ann Barlow was born circa 1741.¹ She married James Morley on 15 February 1787 at St. Mary’s, Whitechapel, London, England.¹ She died on 24 December 1787 at Kempshott Park, Hampshire, England, after childbirth.¹
     From 15 February 1787, her married name became Morley.¹

     Anne Morley was born circa 28 January 1779 at Bombay, India.¹ She was the daughter of James Morley and Sarah Richardson.¹ She was baptised on 29 January 1779 at Bombay, India.¹ She married Thomas Kinloch on 2 February 1807 at Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland.¹ She died on 27 February 1858 at Boulogne, France.¹
     From 2 February 1807, her married name became Kinloch.¹

     James Richardson was born on 10 October 1703.¹ He married Ann Nest on 9 June 1734.¹ He died on 17 November 1776 at age 73.¹
     He lived at Knochshinnoch, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Thomas Kinloch was born in 1759 at Scotland.¹ He married Anne Morley, daughter of James Morley and Sarah Richardson, on 2 February 1807 at Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland.¹ He died on 7 May 1824 at Kilry, Forfarshire, Scotland.¹
