     James Staples Hawkins was born on 10 February 1837.¹ He was the son of James Hawkins and Isabella Law.² He married Letitia Georgiana Brooke, daughter of George Augustus Frederick Brooke and Lady Arabella Georgina Hastings, on 27 July 1865.¹ He died on 9 June 1909 at age 72.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)³ He lived at St. Fentons, Baldoyle, County Dublin, Ireland^G.³
